  1. Our unique, small and friendly group of lawyers is searching for a new colleague to complete its team.

We need someone with experience of providing advice to internal and external customers, undertaking legal research on complex matters and adding value across a broad range of associated areas. You’ll also be managing several property related client files (including commercial leases, disposals, third party rights and legacy estate issues) and will help in meeting tight deadlines where the work requires.

With its ambitious capital programme and ten-year balanced budget, the Council is very proud of the way it works. The ideal applicant for this role will be self-motivated and resourceful, but also passionate about working together in a nurturing environment.

The role attracts a generous holiday allowance, access to staff benefits, the Local Government Pension and the advantage of working in a welcoming environment. Our offices in the centre of Sevenoaks offer free staff parking.

Please note that political awareness and a flexible approach is key in this role.

This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office and home working.

Do you want to know more about the role?

Please contact Martin Goodman, Head of Legal & Democratic Services, on 01732 227245 for an informal discussion about the role.

Your supporting statement is a very important part of your application. We cannot make any assumptions about your knowledge, skills and experience, so the information that you provide in your supporting statement is vital for us to decide whether to shortlist you for an interview.

Please demonstrate how you meet the criteria and our values listed in the person specification, detailing your experience, skills, achievements and/or abilities that are relevant for the role that you are applying for.
