  1. A new plan to protect the historic heritage of Chipstead village for future generations has been agreed.

Sevenoaks District Council has drawn up a new Conservation Area Management Plan for the village as part of its ongoing work to protect the environment.

The Plan will help preserve the village’s heritage by protecting existing historic or architecturally important buildings and ensuring new developments are sympathetic to the surrounding area. It also offers greater protection to trees, open spaces and items of historic or archaeological interest within the village.

Cllr Jill Davison, the Council’s Cabinet Member for planning, says:
The local community and businesses were invited to comment on the draft plan.

The conservation area appraisal can be viewed on the Council’s website at www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/planning

Chipstead village conservation area was agreed at the Council’s Cabinet on Thursday 13 October 2011.
