Knockholt field destroyed in farm blaze

A fire tore through a five-acre field in Knockholt yesterday afternoon.A tonne of hay and a baling machine were also destroyed in just over an hour after the machine caught fire.Two fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue Serivce arrived on the scene at Brasted Lane at 3.30pm amd two hose reel jets were used as officers tackled the blaze.Flames had spread to a field of cut corn which contained 15 bales of hay.No one was injured.
