  1. Edenbridge residents will be able to have a free health MOT to check for any risk of serious medical conditions, with follow-up preventative advice and action on offer.

Sevenoaks District Council has teamed up with the NHS to offer these health assessments, checking for conditions such as coronary heart disease and diabetes.

These health assessments are available to anyone aged 40 to 74 who has not had a health check in the past five years. With a 30 minute check consisting of a simple set of questions and only a drop of blood, quick results will make the participant aware of any risks to their health.

Over half of the 336 health checks completed in the last 18 months have had the results referred to a GP for further advice and follow-up testing, so these tests are highly recommended.

The next health checks will be held between 9am and 1pm on Saturday 27 July in the Eden Centre in Edenbridge. There is no need to pre-book, just turn up on the day.

Cllr Roddy Hogarth, Cabinet Member responsible for health, says:
