Car boot plan for Weald shut down by 'concerned' residents

VILLAGERS have won their battle to stop boot fairs coming to Weald.Residents were alarmed to discover a list of 14 car boot sale dates taking place in a 20-acre field off Morleys Road from Sunday.But an urgent meeting with the district council last week prevented the first fair going ahead.A spokesman from Sevenoaks District Council said: "The council acted as this is a sensitive site, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
