  1. Residents in Edenbridge need to wait no longer as they are being given the chance to take part again in the free 12-week weight management programme, ‘Why Weight.’
Why Weight is run especially for adults aged 18 and over with at least two stone in weight to lose. The programmes are led by qualified professionals and show the link between food, exercise and controlling weight.
At the end of each class there is chance to take part in Zumba, the highly popular motivational dance exercise for 45 minutes. Zumba is a class where the participants dance to lively music and follow the steps of the instructor. A new dance is introduced each week to ensure Zumba remains an exciting and entertaining class.
Classes will be running at Edenbridge Leisure Centre on Tuesdays from 20 September to 8 December between 10.30am to 12.15pm.
Cllr Pat Bosley, the Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for Community Wellbeing, says:
To sign up to the programme, residents should speak with their GP, practice nurse or any health professional.

Why weight is organised by Sevenoaks District Council and funded by NHS West Kent as part of the Choosing Health Agenda, which aims to make healthier choices easier.
