    Thousands of homes across West Kent were without water yesterday after a burst water main and surge in demand left taps dry.Families and people living in the Halstead, Badgers Mount, Knockholt, Shoreham and Westerham areas were forced to collect bottled supplies from emergency water stations manned by Thames Water.Water bosses said the unprecedented situation occurred after a pipe burst in Bromley Common on Friday night.
