    There is hope for the humble hop….but not as we once knew it.So said Shoreham farmer Caroline Alexander shortly after cutting down the last bine of the season on Friday.Mrs Alexander, 64, has been pulling down hops on her land since the early sixties and says the same Castle Farm field where she today cuts thousands of bines a year, has been home to hops since the 1700s.But whereas they were once used only for beer, these days she sells them only for decoration- and the business is...
