Cyclists and road users in the Sevenoaks District are being asked to comment on a new document mapping out the possible way ahead for cycling in the area.
The Sevenoaks District Cycling Strategy has been prepared by Kent County Council and Sevenoaks District Council to develop and promote the use of pedal power in the area by identifying potential new routes, highlighting locations for new cycle parking and improving maintenance and promotion.
Kent County Council Deputy Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Waste, David Brazier, who is also the council’s champion for cycling, said it was vital to improve sustainable forms of transport, such as cycling, and cut car use for simple journeys. He added:

Cllr Peter Fleming, the leader of Sevenoaks District Council, added:

John Morrison, representing the Sevenoaks Cycle Forum, said:
The consultation will last six weeks, starting from Monday 10 October.
The strategy will be available online from Monday 10 October at:
    www.kent.gov.uk/sevenoakscycling
    or
    www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/cycling
The strategy can also be viewed at Sevenoaks District Council, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 1HG.
