  1. Would you relish working in an innovative environment to deliver and shape policies?

Our district has high development pressures but there is the need for balance between the district’s housing & economic needs and the protection of the Green Belt.

You’ll gain a hands-on experience in this role as you’ll have the opportunity to shape and progress the Local Plan through to examination and adoption as well as develop your skills in evidence gathering, policy writing and consultation.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop policy in relation to the Council’s Net Zero 2030 commitment, specialist housing or the provision of Gypsy and Traveller sites.

You’ll provide advice to a range of audiences and junior members of the team will look to you for development and guidance in their work.

If you thrive on creativity, then we would love to hear from you and develop your Planning Policy experience even further!

This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).

Do you want to know more about the role?

Please contact Hannah Gooden, Planning Policy Team Leader, on 017322 22700 for an informal discussion about the role.

Do you want to ensure you have the best chance of being shortlisted?

Read the Job Description and Personal Specification attached to the role and ensure that your supporting statement explains how you meet the essential requirements as your application will be judged against these criteria.
