    Salary Band £28,367 to £31,077

    A generous annual leave allowance of 27 days (plus an additional 5 days depending on having Continuous Local Government Service).

    The Role

    As Revenues Team Leader, you will be responsible for Council Tax & Recovery Team and oversee the billing, collection, administration and recovery of Council Tax and recovering Housing Benefit Overpayments. You will assist the Council Tax & Recovery Manager in identifying ways to help the team achieve a high quality service within a culture of continuous improvement. You will deal customer enquiries which have been escalated to you in respect of all aspects of Council Tax and Housing Benefit Overpayments as well as maintain a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and proposed changes, to ensure your team is always up-to-date and adequately trained to deliver to the best of their ability.

    The Successful Applicant

    You will have track experience of working within a Council Tax environment and an in-depth knowledge of Council Tax and Housing Benefit Overpayment recovery. With strong customer focus, you will have proven ability to provide a service that meets the client expectations within the legislative framework and corporate requirements. You will have managed or supervised a team and you will be an excellent communicator, able to build effective relationships with external customers and your colleagues.

    The Team

    Our Council Team, working in partnership with Dartford Borough Council, consists of 17 Revenues Officers, 3 Team Leaders and a Manager and we deal with over 100,000 council tax properties and customers.

    How to get to us:

    Sevenoaks is only half an hour from central London by train. You will be based at the Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent. TN13 1HG, however due to the current pandemic and current Government advice at the time of advert the role will require a combination of both remote and office based working. A free staff car park is available on site.
