Residents can start the New Year with free health checks at Sevenoaks Library on Saturday 28 January from 10am to 3pm. There is no need to book for the event. Local people can simply turn up and choose from a great range of activities on offer, which include: Cholesterol, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) checks. Live cooking demonstrations by a community chef who will show new and exciting ways to prepare meals and the importance of healthy eating. Making a healthy drink on the famous 'smoothie bike'. Information on healthy eating, useful websites and advice on ‘grow your own’ fruit and vegetables will be available on the day. The library will also provide computer taster sessions and information on volunteering. Gym instructors from Sencio will be on hand to provide fitness demonstrations.
