Otford Heritage Centre is holding another Coffee and Cake morning, at the centre, between 10.30am and 12 noon on Tuesday August 23 and you are invited to go along. Admission is free and everyone is warmly invited. As well as seeing the present displays, including the model of Otford Palace, photographs of local wildlife and information about, and models of, World War 2 V1s and V2s, it is an opportunity to meet those already working as volunteers to make it all possible. Otford's twin town of Hardelot, between Boulogne and Le Touquet, is being visited by coach on Saturday September 3 and you are invited to join in. The committee look forward to receiving your application to travel by ferry from Dover to Calais, leaving Otford at five minutes to six a.m. It is anticipated that you will return to Otford by 8pm in the evening. The cost is £38 per adult, children free, plus £5 per adult, £10 per family, if you have not yet paid this year’s subscription The Tourist Office are organising activities for the children including an optional 1K running race for children born between 2005 and 2012 and 2K for those born between 2001 and 2004. Serendip, a group of senior citizens, meet every Thursday between 9.30 and 10.30am in the Methodist Church Halls to enjoy a gentle exercise class specifically designed for their ages and abilities. The class is followed by coffee/tea and biscuits. If you are interested in joining this small, friendly, group then simply go along wearing comfortable clothing and flat footwear.
