    meet at 7.30pm on Thursday October 13 in the Club Room of the Memorial Hall to hear the second episode of Colin Breed fascinating and amusing tale about protecting the Royals on their visits to Kent. Visitors are most welcome. For more information please contact their President 01959 524831.
    They would also like to remind you that they have a Table Top Sale in the Memorial Hall between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday October 22 when you can pick up bargains galore. If you want to sell at this event tables are selling fast at £10 each and can be booked by calling Chris 01959 522485.

    3rd Otford Guides is 50 years old and they are holding a party at 7.30pm on Friday December 2 to celebrate. They would like to invite ex Guides, previous leaders and people associated with the unit over the last 50 years. Please contact Barbara 07920 404119 or Carol so you can receive an invite and pass the information on to anyone who you know may like to come along and join the celebrations.

    Otford Methodist Church
    is holding a Women’s Breakfast at 8.30am on Saturday October 15 at Darenth Valley Golf Club, Shoreham TN14 7SA. You are invited to go along and enjoy a cooked breakfast and listen to Jemima Wright their speaker. The cost is £10 but it is necessary to book by calling Sue 01959 535099 or email johnandsueward@btinternet.com.

    The Patient Participation Group of Otford Medical Practice is holding a Health Event at Otford Methodist Church Hall on Saturday October 22 to talk about Diabetes. Diabetes can be a devastating disease and one which has been described as being at epidemic level in the UK. You may be living with the disease yourself, anxious to avoid it or concerned for a relative or friend. A GP and a specialist nurse from the Practice will speak on a range of diabetes issues between 10.00 and 11.15 and answer your questions. Please note parking at the hall is very restricted whilst building works are going on, but the village car park is only a couple of minutes walk away.

    Otford Heritage Centre is holding its next Coffee and Cake morning on November 1. You are most welcome to go along but please ring Tina Freke 01959 524661 to reserve a place.

    Hospices of Hope
    is holding a Charity Pop-up Painting Event at 7.30pm, Friday 7 October, in the Memorial Hall. Diana invites you to a fun filled Pop-up Painting Event entitled Venice through the Gondolas. You do not need any painting experience to take part as all equipment and guidance will be provided. Tickets cost £27 per person and include cakes, drinks, nibbles and a raffle. Appointments are now available at Otford and Kemsing Surgeries for the following groups of patients: Children 2, 3 and 4 (School age children in Years 1, 2 and 3 will be offered vaccination at school), Adults over 65, Pregnant Mothers, Carers, Adults under 65 with Diabetes; Heart, Lung (COPD/Asthma), Liver or Kidney conditions.     Otford Folk Dance Club meet at 8pm Thursday in the Otford church hall, High Street, opposite ‘The Bull’ when Keith Wright will be calling.
