    HOSPICES of Hope are holding a Quiz, sponsored by Knocker and Foskett Solicitors, from 7pm on Saturday March 7 at the Memorial Hall. Tickets cost £13.50 to include a light supper and they recommend teams of between 4 and 6.     SEVENOAKS Local RSPB group meet at 7.45pm tonight, Thursday March 5 in the Memorial Hall with a presentation which is very applicable to a county well surrounded by coastline entitled “Life between the Tides”. The speaker is Andrew Cleave an accomplished photographer and naturalist. The charge for non local group members is £3.50 and £2.50 for group members.     Their next expert led field trips, which are free and an ideal way to learn about birds, are on Sunday March 22 to Oare Marsh, led by John Waterman 07935 206618 and Wednesday March 25 to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, led by Anne McGregor 01732 454304.

    OTFORD Parish Council meet every month in the Memorial Hall and for those interested in all their activities there is a 10 minute public forum at the start of the meeting in which to have your say. Their next meeting is on March 9 and meetings start at 7.30pm.

    NEWS from our churches include the World Day of Prayer service being held at 2pm on Friday March 6 at Otford Methodist Church. This year ‘Zimbabwe: Rise, take your mat and walk’ is the subject. There will be refreshments afterwards and everyone is welcome.
    St Bart’s have a churchyard working party on Saturday March 7. They are very short of helpers so if you could go along for an hour or so it would make a difference. Take some useful tools and just join in the fun.
    They also have a soup lunch between 12.00 noon and 2pm in the Church Centre on Monday March 16. Suggested donation is £5 for home-made soup and bread and a light dessert.

    OTFORD Evening WI meet at 7.30pm on Thursday March 12 in the Memorial Hall to hear speaker Barbara Steven talk on the subject of Alternative Calendar Girl’s - very intriguing! Subscriptions are now due and can be paid at this meeting. New members are very welcome. For more information please contact their President on 01959 524831.

    TONBRIDGE & Malling Ramblers offer a short walk around Knole Park on Wednesday March 15 starting at 11a.m. Meet and park in the main Knole NT car park, £5 for non-members car share if possible (TN15 0RP, TQ538543). Good paths and tracks. Followed by lunch or coffee in the National Trust cafe. Toilets near the start. Dogs on short leads. This is a circular walk with an estimated finish time of 12:30.
