    OTFORD Oast WI meet at 9.30am this morning, Thursday June 20, in the Memorial Hall for a talk by Clare Oldfield giving Anti-scam Advice. New members are welcome, the first meeting is free. For further information email otfordoastwi@mail.com.

    OTFORD Folk Dance Club meet on Thursday June 27 at Walthamstow Hall Junior School with Carol Hewson calling. All kinds of mixed folk dances are on offer and all are welcome. Whether you have little or no knowledge, the caller will give help and your fellow dancers will also assist you. The emphasis is on friendly enjoyment rather than perfection If you would like more information ring Mary Butson, 01732 458356.

    OTFORD Gardener’s Society are holding their Rose and Summer Show on June 22 which brings together the beautiful flowers and tasty fruit and vegetables from the early summer garden. Also featured are flower arrangements, cookery and photographic classes. The show takes place in the Village Memorial Hall and opens to the public at 2.15. Homemade teas are available until 4pm.     ART in June. Angela Bishop and daughter, Suzie Galloway are exhibiting their sculptures, paintings, and glasswork in the garden and studios at 5, Broughton Road, Otford, 01959 523203, Angela between 11am and 5pm (or by appointment) June 20/21/22/23 and Suzie between 2 and 5pm on June 14/16/21/22 and between 3 and 5pm on 15/22. Angela is also exhibiting with The East Surrey Sculpture Society at Ightham Mote until June 30.

    SEVENOAKS Embroiderer’s Guild meet on Saturday June 29 at 10am for a morning session and the afternoon session commences at 2pm when the speaker is from ‘The Woolly Felters’ talking about ‘Felt Like Talking’. There will also be a members challenge, deadline and exhibition. The afternoon concludes with tea and cakes at about 4pm. For further information contact Sylvia Grafton 01732 452117.

    ST BARTS next Messy Church is at 3pm on Sunday June 30 in the church centre and is suitable for children up to the age of 11. You are welcome to take your children along for some messy fun.

    OTFORD Primary School's PTFA Summer Fete will take place between 12 and 4pm on Saturday July 6 on the school field. Go along and join them for a fun afternoon of music, traditional games, pony rides, summer shopping, BBQ, beer tent, fizz and strawberries as well as a Grand Raffle, tombola's and silent auction. There will also be a baking competition, inflatables, face painting, and lots of stalls and games for all the family. Adult entry £1, children are free.

    HOSPICES of Hope in the High Street are holding another of their very popular Quiz Nights on Saturday July 6. Doors open at 7 with supper served at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £13.50 and include a light supper.
