    LEADER Programme Project Officer

    Part time circa 15 hours per week


    £28,367 to £31,077 FTE

    This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2022


    The West Kent Leader Programme

    The West Kent LEADER Programme has supported over 103 rural projects in West Kent and is funded by the European Commission. It was successfully delivered between 2008 and 2020 and numerous rural businesses were supported with grants. The Leader Programme has now concluded and Sevenoaks District Council, as the Accountable Body, is now required to formally close the Programme.

    The Role

    As the Project Officer, you will perform tasks related to closure stages of the West Kent LEADER Programme. This will include the preparation/finalisation and variation of grant agreements, the monitoring of projects, the monitoring and evaluation of the respective grant agreements (which will also include attestation site visits) as well as the overall assessment, monitoring and evaluation of the entire Programme, the processing of final claims, and the archiving of the Programme in accordance with the LEADER Programme’s Operating Rules.     You will have excellent organisational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills as well as confidence to work with a range of stakeholders. You will have an interest in the issues facing rural businesses and a good knowledge of EU funded programmes and their monitoring and auditing requirements will be advantageous. As you will be required to undertake attestation audits at the various project sites, you will need to have a clean driving licence and access to a car.

    The Team

    The Project Officer will be line managed by Economic Development Officer/ Strategic Head of Property and Commercial and it will be within our Property and Commercial team, as part of Economic Development.
