    Enforcement Team Manager

    Salary Band F £39,516 to £42,507

    A generous annual leave allowance of 30 days (plus an additional 5 days depending on having Continuous Local Government Service).

    The Role

    The Enforcement Team Manager will be responsible for the effective corporate investigation of and enforcement responses to complaints made to the Council relating to street-scene, waste, and the environment for both criminal and civil standards. You will also be responsible for uniformed Civil Enforcement Officers dealing with parking restriction offences. You will maintain a balance between proactive and reactive work and be expected to manage potentially conflicting priorities which occur frequently due to public complaint, intensive programmed enforcement investigations and changing legislative requirements.

    The Team

    Direct Services has approximately 110 operational staff working across the various functions including Business Development, Clean & Green services, Enforcement, Civil Protection and Transportation and Depot Operations.

    We have recently undergone a re-structure and this is a new position within the council where, under the Commercial Operations and Trading Manager, you will be able to make your mark and shape the service area.

    The Successful Applicant:

    • Relevant professional qualifications or operational experience in a similar role in local authority or law enforcement agency
    • HND/Degree/Diploma in Criminology, Law or a related field
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, consultation and influencing skills tailored to meet the needs of a wide range of audiences, partners and stakeholders.

Due to the current pandemic and current Government advice at the time of advert the role will require a combination of both remote and office based working. A free staff car park is available on site.
