Electoral Canvasser / FM Assistant (Scanning)

  1. In our small and busy Elections team, we take immense pride in our work and the service we provide to the residents of Sevenoaks. Electoral Canvassers are essential to our democratic processes, helping ensure that our residents take up their right to be registered to vote in all Elections.

    In this role you will be travelling across all areas of our district, so a driving licence and your own vehicle is essential. You will interact with a variety of our customers to assist them with the electoral registering process so will have a high level of communication skills and confidence in dealing with enquiries.

    Alongside your canvassing role, there is the opportunity support our council services within the scanning team by scanning and indexing important documents that our customers and colleagues rely on.

    Key elements of the role include:

    • Working as part of a team,
    • Valuable IT skills
    • High level of attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills

    Please note that canvassing is a year-round activity and this role requires you to work outside in both summer and winter months.

    This post is fixed term contract ending in April 2024.
