  1. This is a grade progression post and the offered salary will be dependent on experience.

Working as part of a small, friendly team in a challenging and stimulating environment, you will be organised, accurate and able to work under pressure to pre-determined deadlines. You will be confident and tactful in dealing with elected members and senior officers and be able to think logically and plan ahead. You will also have an excellent standard of written English and be competent using Microsoft Office.

You will have the ability to write with clarity and precision, understand the Council’s Constitution, and advise Members of the Council and Officers in connection with public Council meetings and decision-making processes. You will be able to prioritise your own work to meet deadlines and Member’s expectations. You will also have the ability to understand complex documents and discussions and be able to extract and summarise the key points. You will also need to be a committed team player and be prepared to attend evening meetings.

If you have excellent administrative, communication and IT skills, then the current vacancy for a Democratic Services Officer might just be the role for you.
