  1. Sevenoaks Council is a high performing authority with an enviable track record of providing excellent services. Under the Investors in People assessment we are proud to have become the first public sector organisation in the world to be awarded Platinum status and that staff were ‘universally proud to work for the council.’ We are pleased to offer the opportunity for a suitably qualified Conservation Officer (3 days a week) to join us, working within a Conservation Team.

The role requires an enthusiastic team player with the ability to deliver quality work efficiently and have a commitment to good customer service. You will be able to provide sound expert advice on listed buildings, conservation and design aspects of planning applications to the Development Management Team, Councillors and members of the public. You will help provide a Conservation and Design evidence base for the Local Plan including Conservation Area Appraisals and Management Plans. You will possess a relevant conservation qualification and be familiar with working within the national planning policy framework and with appropriate good practice guidance. You will have relevant experience in heritage conservation, preferably including experience of working in local government planning departments.

For an informal discussion regarding these opportunities please contact Claire Pamberi Planning Policy Team Leader or Antony Lancaster, Strategic Planning Manager on 01732 227221 or 01732 227326 by email to claire.pamberi@sevenoaks.gov.uk or antony.lancaster@sevenoaks.gov.uk
