    Business Development Manager

    Salary Band F £39,516 to £42,507

    A generous annual leave allowance of 30 days (plus an additional 5 days depending on having Continuous Local Government Service).

    The Role

    This is an exciting new role within the service and is an opportunity for you to help us shape the future
    direction of the Council’s paid-for and commercial services. You will manage multiple commercial projects and operations to enable a positive business-like ethos in which you actively shape new and existing excellent service delivery.

    The Business Development Team Manager will develop a Direct Services’ Commercial Strategy and manage a dedicated Business development team to explore, develop and implement new and existing paid-for commercial ventures and opportunities to support the Council’s corporate and financial objectives.

    The Team

    Direct Services has approximately 110 operational staff working across the various functions including
    Business Development, Clean & Green services, Enforcement, Civil Protection and Transportation and Depot Operations.

    We have recently undergone a re-structure and this is a new position within the council where, under the Commercial Operations and Trading Manager, you will be able to make your mark and shape the service area.

    The Successful Applicant:

    • Relevant professional qualifications in marketing, sales or business development or substantial operational experience in a similar role
    • Experience in a relevant commercial or business development position ensuring the
      generation of contract and commercial management deliverables.

    Sevenoaks is only half an hour from central London by train.You will be based at the Dunbrik Depot, 2 Main Road, Dunbrik, Sundridge TN14 6EP. Due to the current pandemic and current Government advice at the time of advert the role will require a combination of both remote and office based working. A free staff car park is available on site.
