    Broughton Manor, Otford during WW2 enquiry

    Can anyone help with this enquiry received from Canada by e-mail?

    If you google "polhill" you will find the family history of the Polhills, which includes a chapter on Broughton Manor. The chapter includes the following paragraph:

    "Sir Ralph Harwood was never able to take up residence as his duties kept him at Buckingham Palace, and in June 1933 he sold the Manor House together with the garden and willow field to the present owner, Mr. G.F. Rogers, J.P. The field fronting Rye Lane was sold to John Nash for building a row of houses in what was first known as Broughton Road but which has since been incorporated in Rye Lane. "

    I believe the current owners of Broughton Manor have some details too, which I'll post here when I hear.
