Benefits Assessor- 1 Year Contract

  1. We are looking to recruit full time, an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Benefit Assessor to join our busy Benefit Service based in Sevenoaks on a 1 year contract. Since 2010 we have been part of a shared service partnership between Dartford Borough Council and Sevenoaks District Council and administer over 12,000 housing benefit and local council tax support (LCTS) customers.

    You must have current experience of calculating and assessing all types of housing benefit and local council tax support applications and an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of benefit/LCTS legislation/rules. You will also want to be part of a team dedicated to providing first class customer service, be flexible, self motivated and know the importance of working both as part of that team as well as being able to work on your own initiative

    You will accurately assess all types of applications for housing benefit and local council tax support and give information and advice for all types of benefit/LCTS related customer queries both on the telephone and to personal callers.

    Your experience will ideally include use of the Academy Benefits system and document management systems. You will have a good standard of education and be computer literate.

    Please note that the successful candidate will be subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
